What to Expect

Wondering what riding lessons are really like? Whether you’re just starting or getting back in the saddle, here’s a glimpse of what you can expect in every lesson: step-by-step guidance, building confidence, and having fun with your horse.

Each lesson starts with the basics—ground handling, grooming, and safely saddling your horse. These important steps help build trust and make sure both you and your horse are comfortable and confident before you even climb in the saddle. Once mounted, we work on improving your riding skills with a focus on balance, body awareness, and clear communication.

To keep things fun and motivating, we’ll add little tests along the way after you hit certain milestones. This helps track your progress and celebrate each step forward. Starting from the ground up means building a strong, steady foundation for safer, happier rides at every level.

What You’ll Need for Riding Lessons:

  •   A riding helmet (if you’re not sure you’ll like riding yet, a bike or skateboard helmet works just fine for your first couple of lessons)
  •     Shoes with at least a 1-inch heel to keep your feet safe in the stirrups
  •     Signed waiver forms
  •     And, of course, a good attitude, ready for learning and fun

Please take a moment to read, print, and sign the waiver by clicking the link, and bring it along to your first lesson. Thanks so much—we’re excited to have you!
